Hopefully very soon, we plan to release our new website – we will let you know when it goes live. We have been working hard at it over the past year; our aim is to give you a site that will give you more information at your fingertips. We also hope it will encourage new patients to call up and book in with us.

Next we are also going SOCIAL! With a Facebook page, a Twitter feed and a Blog…. Watch this space!

We love to hear your comments and feedback, both good and bad – it helps to improve our service to you – so please do drop us an email or leave us a feedback form in the box in the waiting room.
Thank you for all your support, wishing you all a great 2015!

Why Join the Dental Care plan?

Research shows that preventative dentistry delivered on a regular basis greatly reduces the risk of dental disease and provides a platform for a lifetime of improved oral health. We encourage such an approach and with this in mind, have designed our dental care plans to allow us to plan your dental care more effectively, to provide the best chance of keeping you dentally fit and to reduce the need for future treatment.

Please pick up a leaflet at reception or ask any member of the team for more information and the cost.

Congratulations, you’re having a baby!

How can you ensure you keep a healthy Mouth during your pregnancy and give your child the best start in life?

As you may have noticed, your body is going through a lot of changes. The progesterone and oestrogen levels can make your gums very tender and swollen and more likely to bleed. Also you may be suffering from morning sickness and not feel like brushing your teeth. As gum disease can progress much more rapidly whilst you are pregnant, it is important to be even more vigilant in oral care whilst you are pregnant. You may also notice your teeth are more sensitive, especially if you have morning sickness. Many of our pregnant ladies come in 2-3 times during their pregnancy to see the dental hygienist to prevent any gum disease.

Snacking
Often your diet changes when you are pregnant, you may crave sugary snacks and eat more often.
Try and keep a brush and toothpaste with you so you can brush after every time you eat. This will
prevent the bacteria and acid building up and decaying your teeth faster.

Dentistry
It is safe to have dental care whilst you are pregnant. Local anaesthetic is the most widely given drug whilst pregnant.
We will AVOID:
• X-rays
• Antibiotics
• Silver fillings – the Mercury can cross to your baby, it may not cause harm but we prefer to be cautious. White fillings are fine.

Old Wives Tales
Drinking milk will harden your babies’ teeth. There is no evidence to say the calcium from the milk makes any difference to your baby’s teeth.
