White filling materials have advanced over the years and now offer excellent colour matching and long lasting properties.
White fillings can be used for a variety of treatments including addressing decay in molar teeth as well as front teeth, repairing chipped teeth and as an alternative material to metal fillings.
The placement of white filling material is very safe. Once the cavity has been prepared, the new white materials is carefully layered into place. We use a special blue light to set the filling material so it will be completely set when you leave.
As dentists we believe prevention is always better than cure and will always encourage and help you to look after your teeth so you don't develop tooth decay in the first place. If you do have decay and need a filling, then where possible, white fillings are a good solution that are both aesthetic and functional.
A chip in the front tooth has been repaired with white filling material after undergoing tooth whitening.
